Winter can have a harsh effect on the exterior of your home. Your gutters and downspouts can take the brunt of this damage throughout the winter. Heavy amounts of snow and ice can pull the gutters away from the fascia board, and high winds can loosen up the downspouts. With the springtime being typically a rainy season, it is a good time to check to make sure your gutters and downspouts are in good condition. You want them to be able to take the rainwater from your roof and safely transfer it to the ground, away from the foundation. If they are not in good shape you risk having a potential for water damage into your basement, or in some cases, your walls. Avoid this by doing a walk around your home and doing a visual inspection. If you do see that your gutters and downspouts are in need of repair or replacing, give us a call and we will come out and do a free onsite consultation. Until then, enjoy the warming weather!
